Hi.

I just changed the rusty old screws for some regular ones i found in a shop, just a bit more deep and with a plain head, but they seem to fit ok..

I'm looking now through the forum looking for how to solve the electric humming that sounds when is connected. More obvious with the distortion on. The strange thing is that when i put a finger on any of the silver covers of the guitar it stops humming! Should be something related to the electricity and the wiring.

When i opened up the tremolo system i did found this wire, coming from the pickups section through the wood, but going to nowhere. Should it be touching the metal parts of the tremolo??

umm, for what im reading it looks like i will have to open the tremolo system again and put that wire touching metal parts of the tremolo..

the wire needs to be connected to the tailpiece. it is definitely possible that it was before you took it out. all guitars will hum a little, and that hum will be decreased when you touch the strings. not a problem.

Yeah, there will always be a little background hum, but I'm not surprised it was humming badly with the ground wire disconnected. All you gotta do is solder it back on to the tailpiece and bob's yer uncle.

Best idea. They are a pain to solder on, you'll need to 'rough up' the plate with emery cloth to get the solder to 'grab' otherwise.

how do you make sure it touches if its stapled? does the trem touch the wood?

Already changed the bridge, for a mustang one. I dont understand why the piece for the low E string is more lower than the others.. is it to achieve the legendary "low E buzz"? Because i have it now!. umm.. Dont care much about the buzz, but its my only complain about the jaguar.

And the humming, but not that much important since i dont use a big amp..

I fixed the upper tone roller with the "endless rolling". It has a small screw inside it, it only needed to be a bit more screwed to lock it. I also changed the rusty metal covers and screws, apart from the scratches in the painting and fretboard the guitar looks much better now.

I'll have to upload a picture in "your jaguar picture" section..

Hahahahhahaha! Nice one. 😆

Try raising the lower bridge post slightly. I've had about 5 Jags, 2 Jazzys, 3 JS and a Mustang and they were all different. Some i just ended up putting up with 'buzz' coz no matter what i did it was there.
