Glad you're sticking it out; mesas get a lot of bad stick for their recto amps which I don't like at all. My old express was incredibly versatile, as is the mark series; oranges tend to have a very british tonality to them, mayble less so than marhsalls but still very prominent. Halfway between a vox and marshall perhaps?
I always think mesas in the UK are like orange in the USA; they are more expensive and therefore seem like better options. In britain oranges are only a bit more than marshalls which are pretty inexpensive. Mesas, on the other hand are in the same price bracket as our home-grown boutique stuff like cornford or matamp.
