recommendations for an extremely loud and extremely clean amp? all i can really think of is the twin.

Bigger ampegs, mesa lonestar classic, the twin, roland jazz chorus, fender pro reverb, fender hot rod deville, fender super reverb, any tube amp with a power rating of 50vwatts or more. Thought you had a bassman? That'd be on the list...

yea, i have a bassman. its not loud enough 😆. when i want to play totally clean, and dig in, it gets dirty, i want something REALLY loud, but not cause im a metalhead headbanging wank off, cause i try to by extremely dynamic in my playing, especially when im clean.

I would recommend the Fender Twin 100w. I own it and it is very loud and stays clean at high volumes. It has tremolo, reverb, and an overdrive channel. I love it. Give it a try.

If you really wanna get fancy the biggest and loudest cleans would probably come from a Two Rock Classic Reverb w/ one of their high end custom 2x12 Cabinets. But then you're talking about spending close to $6000 to 7000 on an amp.

Or you could check out the Bogner Shiva, which boasts a twin reverb style clean channel and a mesa boogie style drive channel. They come in many different options but a 2x12 combo with reverb would probably cost about $3000.

Otherwise any Fender Blackface will do the trick with the Twin Reverb and Twin Amp being the loudest offerings. But that doesn't mean they have the best tone. The best tone at a useable volume (one you'd actually use Twin Reverbs are way way too loud IMO, but I still use it) would definitely be the Super Reverb. I'm actually saving up for one and am going to trade my Twin and pay the difference in cash for a vintage 60s model Super at my local music store.

the thing about the bassman is that their dirty tone is still very dynamic, using the line out of my crate V8, i boosted it so it got INCREDIBLY loud, it was amazing for the 2 or 3 seconds i could bear it

Orange Rocker 30!! Its impossible for the clean channel to get preamp distortion so you can crank it all the way up on the clean channel and jsut get Output distortion so basically its VERYY LOUD and clean! Orange can and will do it all 😆

You know I play through a bassman at school (late 70s silverface with master volume) and I can be turned all the way up on both master and pre amp volume and when no one else is playing my volume is super super loud and clean, way louder than any of the other amps in the room, but what's funny, when everyone starts playing I cant be heard at all, totally lost in the mix. I think it has to do with the way the amp is eq'd. I don't know what year bassman you're playing but maybe you're problem isn't about volume but more about how the amp is voiced? Dunno though.

This may sound like a silly and pedantic question, but how come you want it so loud?

Why I ask is that when I do a gig, nearly everytime the amp is mic'd up and I'm asked to turn it down, and if I'm rehearsing there's only so loud you can go before the PA starts feeding back and you gotta turn it down anyway.

I've got a red knob twin and it is too much volume! I'm thinking of getting a deluxe to be honest....plus carrying a Twin around isn't much fun.

This is true, the Twin is a monster. The Deluxe is a great amp, and my one is uber loud. At practice, I have it's volume set at 2 (out of 11) which is more than enough volume. And this is playing next to one of the loudest drummers I know 😉
