For a while I was playing about 3 hours a day, but it has tapered off to about 1 hour a day now.
One of the main reasons for my slow progress is that I don't know any exercises or theory. When I was getting lessons (which was only for about 2 months) My teacher gave me a chord chart and a few basic riffs tabbed out. In my subsequent playing, it has always been the chord chart that has been my major learning tool. My future does lie in rythym work - that is simply what interests me most about guitar - but I would like to become more versatile.
It's a pretty simple fact that the more you play, the better you get. When I was really getting back into guitar, I was playing 3-4 hours a day, and while it didn't seem like it at the time, I made huge progress. Now that I have tapered off, my progress has slowed.
But I hace 3 weeks off over New Years so hopefully I can find some focus and play a bit more then...
