i see the discussions here have a tendency to digress and move far away from the subject 😉
now i have a question about how sort out the tremolo arm:
i have 2 of them - one has no plastic handle on the end, because the guy who bought the other jazzmaster they had in the shop lost his tremolo arm, and ordered one from fender and it arrived without the plastic handle, so the shop sold him the plastic handle from mine, unaware that i was going to buy it. So they tried to order the handle, but fender said "we don't sell them separately, have a new trem arm", so they ordered me another one and let me have it free.
The original arm kinda clips into place and then wobbles around a lot and dangles because it's loose, but can't fall out, whereas the replacement arm simply slides in and doesn't clip in at all making it very easy for it to slide out, but it stays in place for a reasonable amount of time if you push it down into the hole so that it sits tightly.
what should i do to sort out either of these, and which one should i use?
