Here is a cool older Fender Jazzmaster electric guitar that was highly customized in the late 1970s. I do not know who did this, I bought it this way. Start with a 1963 Jazzmaster body (the neck that was taken off this guitar was dated 1963), plug the tremolo (the finish cracked on the plug line), install a string-through brass hard-tail bridge, add two double-cream 1979 Mighty Mite humbucker pickups (with allen key adjustable pole pieces), rout the body to add controls (consisting of two seperate pull-on volume pots (to activate coil taps), two seperate tone pots, a mini-switch (not sure of function, maybe phasing?), and a three way pickup selector switch). The volume pots are dated 1979. The pickups meter around 8 ohms in humbucker mode. All of the mods on the body, the paint, pick-guard, neck plate, and the tuners were done in 1979. The original neck is long gone and has been replaced more recently with a 1998 Fender import Strat neck that has been decal-ed with a pre-CBS style Jazzmaster decal. The neck is straight and the frets are good. The tuners are 6-in-line non-locking '70s chrome Sperzels. The pick-guard is a custom made brass (painted black) guard with matching custom neck plate. The knobs are replacement Fender amp knobs and the three-way switch has a chrome tip. The paint-job is copper with metalflake (sparkles) and is chipped (on the edges), scuffed, and dinged. Despite the cosmetics this axe still looks, plays and sounds cool. The last two pictures I took were in direct sunlight to try show the metalflake, but didn't show up too well.
