i assumed you meant routing template. youll need to make one even if you do have the measurements

Thanks to Everyone who tried to help! I found a document which has size of neck heel (3"), which give an opportunity to make a drawing of guitar in scale... If someone needs, here it is:

Is the plan to build a Jaguar with only the neck heel width and a scale drawing as a starting point???

why not? make a template from there, and all you need is body thickness, and if youve got the tools/ability, you have yourself a jag body

Well, if it was me, I'd be wanting more than one measurement to work with. I'd also be looking for a more specific measurement than simply "3 inches". But, to each his own...

I'd be willing to bet this project doesn't work.

rob, if you have one measurement, assuming the drawing is to scale (which it addmitedly may not be) you can work out 2 dimensions of the guitarbased on scale. the third dimension is pretty easy to find and universal, so im not sure what youre saying

You said it just then, you need 2 measurements, not one. Besides, how about we hear from the OP on the status of his project.

All I am saying is that if *I* was building a guitar, I would want a dozen measurements, not just one. Wht give yourself a complicated maths problem to deal with when you can have all the info needed right from the start?

Seriously Trav, would you build a guitar from scratch using only one measurement as your starting point? And a measurement in inches, no less, not mm?

i'm not saying i would, but the way you phrased it made it seem like you were trying to tote your superior logic/knowledge, when the fact is you're wrong. the measurements for neck pocket depth, and control depth can be found elsewhere, as can the thickness. And of those things, only neck pocket depth is really vital.
