well.. today has been, eventful i geuss. it started fine, a little finish sanding and two coats of primer and a little more sanding. sanded the neck with some fine grit and sprayed the neck tint, beautiful! it came out great, let it sit a few coats of clear and im good to go, taped around the headstock to paint it and left it for a bit to work on the body. color coat one two and three, a little wet sanding and then another color coat, waited a few hours and wet sanded a little more. primed and painted the peg head, matched the number of coats with the body and some wet sanding, peeled the tape and voila! perfect line and matching headstock. then it all goes downhill. there was some left over adhesive from the tape on the fretboard and back of the neck, put some goof off on a sponge and rubbed the goo off, apparently though i got too vigourous and the clear coat and neck tint came off in one spot. "no big" i though "i will just match it" WRONG!. i ended up sanding and retinting twice! and had to do another coat on the peg head as well because of some seepage, next tim ei will tape better. let it dry, clearcoat neck is done. i am impatient, and yes rome wasnt built in a day but i want to get this done, and after the 5th body color coat i almost settled for a little wet sanding and clear coat and call it a day. but i talked myself out of it and sprayed another coat nice and smooth and all was well until the run of the century. and to spare details in this already massive post, i have a huge orange peely nasty gummy spot as a result of my impatience. letting it dry overnight and re-attack in the morning, ugh
