Since you asked...
First thing is swapping out the bridge pickup and swapping in a wax-potted pickup from a brand new Squier Telecaster Custom.
Installing a Squier 51 neck pickup in the middle position. As a side note, the lutier was very impressed with the 51 pickup, in particular the use of 2 magnets. He asked me a couple of times if I was sure the pickup wasn't a Mighty Mite. It's definitely not. The pole pieces are shaped differently, for starters.
Also installing a 2nd tone pot which will handle the middle and bridge pickups, with the other tone pot handling neck alone.
Last of all, replacing the toggle pup selector switch (which I have never liked) with a 5-way rotary switch.
In all, it's going to cost me about AUD $150, which is well worth it, because the guitar is gonna be a BMF!!!
