Korey, I like the aged pickups and the knobs too. The look like knobs from an 80's hi-fi stereo system.
Also, regarding replacing pickups, read below. As for who made the pickguard, I just cut the original. I'm not worried about resale value anymore.
Now on to my stuff...
To answer the question on "how long has it been"... THIS TIME it has been about 2 months. On previous occassions we have been separated for much longer.

It looks cool and sounds great. The new bridge pickup has some real punch. It came from a Squier Tele Custom and sounds like a Tele, but slighly fatter and muddier (not in a bad way). The new pickup was larger than the stock pickup, so some pickguard cutting needed to be done.
The 51 pickup in the middle position sounds great too, but it needs to have the tone and volume both set to 10 on the guitar for it to really shine. Rolling off results in a loss of the stratty attack and snap that I am searching for.
Pickup selector is a 3-way rotary switch that came out of my 51. Finding a 5-way rotary proved to be difficult, so I sacrificed the in-between positions. One day I might put in a 5-way, but I don't use the in-betweens anyway, so no great rush. The white chicken head was my idea. I think I made a good choice:)
There is only one problem. On my order, I asked for a new tone control to handle middle and bridge, while the other tone control would be assigned to the neck pickup, but this was not done. In the end I decided not to worry about it. I was happy just to be getting the guitar back.
Anyway, here she is... Check how low the action is!!
