best amp for a JAGSTANG

Hey whats up guys, Trying to get some opinions on amp for the JAGSTANG,also anyone have any suggestions on mods for tuning????

Go to Guitar Center w/ ur Jag-Stang and try every amp they have that has the amount of power your lookin for (15W, 30W, etc.) and is in your price range. Then pick your favorite. Everybody likes different amps. Personally, I use a Vox Valvetronix 50 Watt combo and love it but someone else might not like it as much at all. Again it's all about what sounds good to you, what you're gonna use the amp for (grunge, classic rock, reggae, etc.), and how loud you're gonna need it to be.

Well i play alot of nirvana,black sabbath,jimi hendrix and so on , another question is i dont use the whammy bar would it be ok to turn the vibrato bar around so i dont have to wrap the strings around the bar and can i screw it down so it doesnt move up and down???

I reckon orange are good for that, but if you want more gain and a slightly darker tone, then bogner is the answer

Any amp could suit that type of music, just depends on how you use it.

What's your price range?

My absolute favorite amp right now is the Fender '59 Bassman, of course the original probably go for a few thousand, but the reissue sounds great and sells for just under 1000 used on ebay! I plugged an es 335 into one the other day at guitar center while I was getting strings and fell in love! Absurdly good breakup, not harsh at all, but maybe not enough for hi-gain music, great for blues and gritty rock stuff.

I got a great jazz tone too by using the volume knob on the guitar to control the amount of gain. Went home and read about them and turns out this is the circuit Jim Marshall "stole" to use in his first Marshall amps, makes sense.

Actually no. I don't know anyone personally from the forum

If I'm not mistaken, Hendrix used Marshalls and I think Kurt used Marshalls for a while (at least Marshall cabs). I dun like Marshalls but it sounds like they might work for you, although their tube amps are pricey and I've heard their solid states suck.

yeah i have a marshal 10 watt but i think i might go with a fender 25 watt saw one for 180.00 so im gonna check it out{have a ds-1 so im not really looking for that much from the amp

ds-1 is one of my all time favorite pedals, good job.

unless moded. I hate stock DS-1's. Swap out a few caps and resistors and you've got an ok pedal. Mine was just to noisey, hissing and such.

You know what really blows? Digitech Death Metal. It always feeds back. ALWAYS. I want to get something that will add crunch, but will also emphasize that you have three TREBLE strings as well, ya know 🙄 ?

Check out the Barber Dirty Bomb. Really nice Hi-gain pedal that has real nice crunch at lower settings, and can do shrieking death metal at higher ones. And it's only $90.

If that's too much gain the Barber Super Sport Direct Drive is really nice for medium gain stuff.

Also fulltone OCD, or MI Audio Crunch Box.
