i need some help..

Someone posted a pictured of some guitarist and he was holding his guitar.

it was this white strat, jag, jazzy looking thing, it had humbuckers and a strat trem; but had a jag or jazzy trem plate and the debate was weather the strings went to the trem unti.

uh.... the picture was black and white if that helps.

i cant remember what Forum or thread it was, im hoping someone knows what i'm talking about, i just want to see that thing again.

okay actually that thread discusses it but i dont think its the same one where we discussed whether on not the strings went to the plate

of sorts. I really like the way the jag trem looks with the strat bridge.

i have a toploading hardtail, if i got made hands on a jag/jazzy trem plate id be in bizzz..

and yeah, i'm awar of the springs on the back, but thats what grinders are for. if i could keep the tremelo and still use it, plus use the plat idea.... 😲 bigby-ish.

that probably made ZER0 sense.

uhh...... ha yeah kinda.

you could always block the strat trem and remove the springs for weight's sake, and then route for the jag trem. and then use the strat bridge as the bridge. if that made any sense

I'd have to drill hole in the strat bridge though, in order for the strings to pass through and to the saddles. yes?

im thinking the most you would have to do is file down the metal lip that may block the strings, but they might pass over this uninhibited if you raised the saddles a bit

im going to look into it. ive been thinking about it ever since i got the body. I probably wont route out the body, trying to avoid that. May not even use the jag/jazzy option 💡 ive also thought about using the plate from a strat trem with the saddles removed and such as a tailpiece,only because ive got one laying around and never saw anyone do that before.

Indeed, this sounds like an interesting wee project. I'll be waiting to hear more...

well, the strat plate looks kinda stupid. Too many squares on such a round smooth body. I'ma come up with somthing. Strings should clear that lip though, saddles are high enough. I probably will block the trem. Just popped into my head, not sure if you'd want to call it a trem...maybe... anyway.. i've seen "trem" bars behind the nut, as i'm sure many of you have. thats another neat option i'm going to consider

how about removing the springs and placing a pickup inside the cavity to amplify "timbre" and odd noises, plus jag trem with pickup behind the bridge?

because as we all know above the nut is for artsy pretentious people 😉

I like that idea too actually. And wire it with its own on/off switch...hmm.....

Or a phone receiver inside the pickup cavity...hm....

i've noticed i get a neat sound when i pluck the trem springs, but i think i'll get by without it.

and you could have an independent volume for the 3rd pup to manage the mix. the spring plucking sound is very cool especially if you hold chords and do it, add a whole lot of reverb some fuzz and chorus, ambient city

Yes. Then i noticed you get the same noise pretty much when you jsut hit the body with yr palm. its just not as pronounced.

I really like the clinking "third bridge" sounds... So I'd put a pickup where I get the most out of those.

yes, but its clearly not as fun 😆

ive always thought of adding an onboard effect in that cavity, a little circuit board would fit right in there
