how do you know what the 10k sounds like? these are all approximations. if you're going for clean/blues sounds, i suggest alnico pickups, since for cleans, the average setup will fall short with ceramic pups. the average guitar rig was created and tuned with alnico pups in mind, so while it doesn't necessarily mean ceramic pups wount sound great, it makes it likely. i have a 10k ceramic bridge humbucker which sounds like #### clean. because humbuckers pickup more mid harmonics and fundemental, a single-coil sized pup would be even more shrill. i love it for dirty, even though i don't play metal, it is a metal pup. (when i switch from the neck to the bridge, it goes from smooth dirt to crunchy distortion). i've also had a tele w/hot rails which sounded like #### clean, but nice dirty.
