no hacking away or anything ('specially ppl like mcpedo)

I don't know shoite about bases, but how bout a pickguard and a new pickup?

Well you could replace the pickup if ya wanted. Get a Badass Bridge too if you wanted cause they're awesome. I'ma bet those tuners aren't great either, so i'd see about replacing them with some decent ones...

You could replace the first pot with a concentric one and use that for your volume and tone controls and then install a black ice on the other one. A black ice is a special capacitor thingy that you put on a tone control to make it function as a overdrive control... the cool thing about them though is that they're are passive so no batteries or anything like that. You can get them for about $28 at http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_pickups/Components:_Black_Ice_overdrive.html

(PS for these to work your pups have to be at least 10k OHMs DC Resistance)

(PSS according to Stewmac they work best with 250k pot)

on the subject of my bass. . .i have an awful grounding problem. . and its really bad and needs to be delt with

when i plug it into my bass amp (some orange thing) i get all this buzzing but when i touch the strings it goes, but if i plug it into my roland cube guitar amp, there isnt any buzz

so is it my guitar or is there a problem with my amp? and what can i do to get rid of it?

You need to give it to me and let me re-wire and shild the thing.

You'll need to buy a wiring kit and shielding kit from stewmac

Yeah, but you're talking about repairing a guitar.

You'd need to rewire it with proper shielding and you say you can't even make a feedback looper 😛

feed, have you tried the blackice? anybody else have any experiences with it?

No, I've rewired 2 guitars, built one pedal and countless projects including an electronic egg timer and something for my nephew's train set (signal thing)

No personal experience just a wicked awesome idea that'd be really cool if it does what they say it does

i wonder if they were using a 'passive' solution similar to the black ice for the jaguar bottom master, or if there is a 9V-powered fuzz in there . . .

mcpedo doesn't know what he's talking about. string buzz isn't a shielding issue, its a grounding issue. if i'm understanding your description correctly, the strings are connected to the audio path. if it only happens in that one amp, it's a problem there. probably a combination of signal bleed, and a disconnect to ground at the input jack. if it's at the input jack, the best thing to do would be to replace it/rewire it. have mcpedo do this for you, and then go to the shop and get yourself a new amp.
