black ice is just two diodes in parallel shunting to ground. it results in a loss in volume, and should sound allot like a dist+ or any other hard clipping dirt pedal w/out much tone shaping.

I've built something like 2 guitars (they were decent) and a bass (this was for school, so it was ####). So far I've built two pedals (both ring-mod type things and sold, no pics ☹ ). I have also repaired over 15 guitars for friends and clients...
