Main reason Shredder like Ibanez and V , is coz it's Amazing Shape and It's very confortable

ibanez/Soloist is lot's more confortable than Strato , simple

V shape are cooler and very metal style , but i dont like ibanez ... but i like Soloist , Prs , V , Les Paul , Sg , SilverTone , Danelectro , Jag-stang is my style

i can say if you play can sheredd on , Can do in all guitars you want , some day i will try play Van Hallen on a Silver tone , why no 😀

The battery, is oddly enough, kept in the control cavity for the volume and tone controls. I usually wrap it in electrical tape to keep it from shorting out anything in the control cavity. The guitar is pretty much 100% stock except fot eh pickups and pots.

But the thing is, you cant just shred for the sake of shredding. If you want to be a good guitar player, you got to take that shredding and give it some direction. Guitarist of the likes of David Gilmour probably could outshred most people out there, but if you listen to his solos, they are slow and calm.

Probably a better example is Hendrix. He could go nuts on the fret board but his solos had a lot of direction. Your average shredder in the guitar store is like "yah man! i can play the solo to Master of Puppets BACKWARDS!!!" Ask him to improvise a solo along to a random blues riff and he will have trouble.

good sheredder dont stay only playng 250bpm solos

but like Alternative rock,blues,Jazz,Improvisement,Classic music,Metal,Prog rock , heavy metal , Hard Rock , rockabillity .... all

My Jag-Stang runs with a pair of 25K LOG potentiometers and an EMG 81 (bridge) and EMG SA-1 (Neck) pickups. I typically run a Duracell or Energizer Battery in it, since I've noticed a mild deterioration in sound quality using cheaper batteries. The sound on that guitar is very thick and fat.

My Jaguar is almost fully stock except the bridge (ABR Tune-O-Matic, holes filled and drilled for proper intonation), the pickups (Seymour Duncan Bridge Position SC1-B Cool Rails in both neck and bridge), and the lead circuit volume and tone controls (500K Audio taper, The Tone Control is a Push/Pull coil split for a sound so tinny it sounds like a cheap 60's Teisco, which can be useful in some situations). The normal tone of the Jaguar sounds just like a 63' I played that must've had some hot-wound stock pickups in it, as it sounded incredibly thick, but showed no signs of having anything replaced.

just out of interest - what gauge strings do you use/recommend on your jagstang and jaguar?

On mine in particular, I use Fender Bullet 009-045 gauge (yes, I use "strat" strings on these). How I get plenty of sustain on such a low gauge depends on the bridge. On the Jaguar, I have a TOM on it (though that's coming off), but along with that, it's set up like I would a Jaguar rocker bridge, the neck angles back a good bit to there the strings pass over it to the tailpiece at about a 35 degree angle.

The Jag-Stang is the easiest, I have the trem set tighter than factory spec for 9's, where a standard bar is sitting 2-3" off the top of the pickguard, so I bent one of the two Mustang bars I have up to go down in pitch a full octave, then I put a "stop" on it so then it would allow me to have full upward travel. Because of the tension, that rear bar is lower, I also shimmed the neck, so the back angle off the bridge to the tailpiece is close to that of a Les Paul, only difference is the JS allows me to use the trem. I can get a 5th> upwards and a full octave down to the pickguard.

no it's a Super Distortion. Don't like it, sounds good heavily distorted but far too bass-heavy and unbalanced clean/mild distortion. Really not designed to work with 250k pots.

I bought a JB cheap off ebay, just looking for a guitar-tech in london that can install it (and rewire my whole jagstang). Will post most videos when that's done.

No I think he ment from different guitars like most Kramer and Jacksons have a 12" radius if not larger, I think some 15". Large nuts and chunky necks. hah. You can blend note higher on larger radi, and on fenders bending the note is easier.

That's true. I have a couple Kramer necks in my collection of axes (including 2 Kramer Focus 3000s), all those suckers have wide, flat necks on them, however, I find the Kramer necks have no better action than the Fender Necks, making the Fender Necks faster than the Kramer necks due to the skinnier size, and the easier ability to bend due to the arch.

I still find it a little funny that most shred guitarists add all this junk that makes the darn thing HARDER to play instead of easier (like Scalloped Fretboards), oh well, to each his own.

he wasn't talking about wide necks with flat fretboards as being hard to play. he was citing standard 7.25" fender necks as being "insane". you only need to read his post to realise this:

listen, i have a variety of guitars with different neck profiles.

The reason i find the jag-stang hard for lead is because of the extremely narrow neck (string spacing it so close i keep muting stuff), plus the radius has really messed me up.

All my previous guitars have had very high neck radius, which means basically the strings follow a very smooth arc or feel complete flat. now suddenly there is a dramatic arc meaning my fingers have to push down further on somg strings that others. these to me feels un-natural.

However, the strings also feel very loose, so im getting it set up with 11s - but even then, i know this'll be no shred-machine, it'll always be a primarily rhythm guitar (for me at least)
