While you're waiting for the change, try lowering the SuperD some. One trick on Gibson style instruments is to have it sit just above the pickup rings. I guess on a JS that's about maybe one half an inch lower than usual or so. If the SuperD is too close to the strings it gets that woofy bass and the leads don't sing. So lower it, adjust your amp to taste and you should hear an improvement 'til you get the JB sorted out.
