HOMEMADE STRAP LOCKS

i thought i'd post a few ways to make homemade strap locks because strap locks range from $10-$30 any ways here we go.

here's what you need for style one:

2 gretch beer bottles

take the beer open it and pop the rubber warcher off then put it over your strap (i'm not sure if this really works a freind of mine say's his dad used to do this.)or maybe it was put it under the strap button but dont flip the button oh well you can figure it out.

style two:

simpley unscrew the strap buton put strap against the guitar.Turn the button upside down and screw it back on the guitar.

style 3:

combine style 1 and 2:

put a warsher underneath the button turn the button upside down and screw it back on

Not bad ideas, BUT i dont think plastic would look very good.

yeah, thats the european style.

at least in the netherlands & germany, as it requires old school beer bottles.

thats what i was thinking but it's what a freind told me so i though ehhhh why not.

So the washer you're talking about, it's that red thing in the pictures? Fits over the metal "button" that the strap slips over?

i use 10 cent washers from the hardware store.

i think the internal measurement is 3/8.

remove strap button, place strap against guitar.

place washer on strap.

push screw and button through the washer

screw in.

the washer cant pass over the widest part of the button

and it cant come off unless the screw strips

i'd trust this much more than rubber bits

+1 it's just what a freind told me i'm not sure if it works.

can you get me measurments of the grolsch washer so i know what washer to get next time i'm in lowe's.

no i need the same measurments of the grolsch so i know that they work because i cant get grolsch because nobody drinks in my family.

i dont understand the need for those measurements,

does it really matter if the washers are the exact same as the bottle toppers?

are you going after some mojo thing? gonna paint them red?
