a new output transformer for my amp, it's needed one for ages now and I keep putting off. Might save up for a Mercury Magnetics one.

a proper speaker cab, probably one of them custom jobs on ebay, will also swap out one of my Celestion Rock Driver Pros for a late 70s G12-65 I've got lying around at home, see what that does to my tone. Hoping it'll give me broader and more balanced cleans.

a decent power supply, most likely the one Diago make 'cause it's half the price of the rest and apparently pretty much the same.

a BYOC Phase Royal kit, a new phaser they're gonna start putting out that's a bit more extreme than your average. I need a nice exaggerated but slow phase sound.

an interesting delay pedal, either an MXR Carbon Copy, EH Memory Boy or a Boss DD3. Alls I want it for is my echoes/ repeats and swirly self-oscillation stuff, doesn't have to be fancy. I'm attracted by the features of the Memory Boy, but hear it has some tonal issues.

Some kind of vintage-ish chorus, I find myself very tempted by the old Danelectro Cool Cat chorus, the 90s one in the big metal case, they're apparently very good and keep appearing on ebay for like

Im a serious player, but not a great one haha! I haven't done any recordings in the last few years since I've been at UNT, I've just been trying to get better. There's a video of me on YouTube from a few years back (my playing is a lot different now), just search "twelve o'clock Elaine," the band was awful but I take a pretty long solo that's cool I guess.

I'm actually supposed to be recording backup guitar for a local pop artist this Saturday and when they give me a copy I'll defInitely post a link.

I love gear myself but lol at some these lists. The key to a great sound is keeping it simple most of the time. Musicians- we are a self centred lot, i mean, can anyone in an audience seriously tell if we are using Celestions and which model? Same with pedals, half of them sound the same as each other in the context of a band.

My 2x12 cab has four Celestion anniversary 30s in it but its an old tatty Carlsbro so everyone just thinks its garbage, not loaded with about

Personally i like it at gigs when after these thick metal kidz have done prating around polishing and wanking over their ibanez copys and bc rich things during soundchecks then i whip out the supersonic and get mocked for having a cheap squier!

To which one does reply, "It may be a squier but it sure as hell beats the arse off of your pointy headstock piece of sh1te!

It amazes me that Squier has such a bad rap even though 9/10 of their guitars are awesome in terms of playability and sound. Well sound is subjective, but they sound good to me most of the time.

my thoughts exactly. they may sound weak but pick ups can be changed. its what you play on them that counts anyway.

Just depends on what you want really. Hendrix liked lots of stomp boxes and was very finicky about his amps. There's no right or wrong, just different goals and different ways of achieving those goals.

I try not to judge my tone or musicality by the opinions of other people, unless they play an instrument and are better than me. The only standard is the one in your head, and I try to keep mine as high as possible.
