It breaks up at 2? That's not a lot of headroom, so you wouldn't be playing clean at all with that beast.

Hot Rods are amazing for concert venues, large to small. Can really, really pack a punch even with clean levels. I just wish my Blues jr. could keep that up at such high volumes. If you have problems, you could always mic your amp...

Yeah I heard they're excellent amps, the only flaw being that they stupidly use a linear pot for the master volume - which is so dumb.

If you solder in a log one to make the control work properly then you void the warranty. Idiots!

Well I know the advantages of Heads, but I think combos are just more easy to work with yep

anyways... I found that one of my neighbors has a music store, so I ordered the hot rod for myself($450), but the store doesn't order Peavey stuff.

so no peaveys, the store carries vintage and has connection with Fender and Ibanez I believe

im not ahuge fan of deluxes, i just ont like one speaker, i have a hot rod deville(the 2-12 version) it's pretty damn good. i compensate for the 12's by upping the treble, than add the bright boost to give me a good jangly sound. the reverbs a bit weak untill at 12, well it seems that way for me, although i keep it at about 4ish. the linear pot bs is really annoying. i hate not being able to play the stupid amp quietly. but with 60 watts why would i want to. your amp will easily overpower drummers.

Well I just recieved the Hot Rod Deluxe yesterday, and I think it was worth it. Nice decent weight and When I mess around with the drive I can get my Level of distortion on the More Drive. Damn that clean is nice and with the bright on...the shared eq is kinda annoying, but I found a setting that is good with both so ya.

Ya I coulda held out a little more for a Deville, but then I could of held out even more for a Twin Reverb, then a Super sonic half stack...but I would never get an amp at that rate.

ADD: What kinda reverb you shootin' for at 12? that is pretty strong on mine. 3 is the highest I will go on the reverb, but thats just me

im searching for multiple reverb tanks of reverb(which i guess is impossible) but it think the reverb atleast could be a bit more vibrant. i think mines just a bit quite in the mix. yeah im not sure what i think about the super sonic, it looks pretty awesome, but seems like a marshall rip off. glad you like the deluxe, those are fine amps, although im thinking about buying one and turning it into a head or something, or i plan on doing that with a twin reverb.
