Malekko Chicklet is soooooooo much better if you're missing a reverb tank in your amp. And even if you have a reverb tank, the malekko sounds almost just as immense.

I think a Splawn amp is probably cheaper too, as well as being infinitely better... Plus it'll hold it's resale value fantastically. They're the best around for hot-rodded Marshall tones, and they can reach Modern metal. >.>
And now I shall begin my discussion.
Splawn pricing with the cheapest amp being the $1499 Splawn Competition amp being the cheapiest I saw displayed on there website no it is not cheaper then an Orange Dual Terror head which runs at $859 and change at most if not all retailers as well as the Tiny Terror Combo which also sells at the same price. So now the Splawn Amp is not cheaper in actuality your cheapest choice is still around $640 dollars more expensive money that could be better spent buying a nice cab from Avatar cabinets. >.> to that point.
Additionally we are talking about an amp thats good for home practicing as well as jamming with most Splawn amps being strictly 100 watts or a 100/50 convertible amp I dont know how you could realistically bedroom practice with that power and get a good tube tone from your amp. The only amp from Splawn that would suite the need for home and jamming would be the Street Rod at a modest price of $1850 for the combo which would be 40 watts with the option for half power at 20 watts.
*small EDIT here on the Splawn pricing, when buying an amp you to leave a 50% deposit on your amps price that deposit amount is shown here and even at half there cost a splawn in 3 out of 5 cases will still be more expensive then a Dual Terror head would be without the 10 week waiting period. These prices do not include shipping which you must also pay.
$925 for a Quickrod ~ $66 more than a Dual Terror or TT Combo
$975 for a Nitro ~ $116 more than a Dual Terror or TT Combo
$750 for a Competition ~ $109 less than a Dual Terror or TT Combo
and $925 for the Street Rod ~ $66 more than a Dual terror or TT Combo
the Super comp range goes from $775-$825. ~ varies from $84--$34 less than a Dual Terror or TT Combo
So I guess here is where I should insert a pointless emoticon and say that I have indeed struck again.
Oh for those of you wanting to hear Splawn amps here is a VS video between the Nitro and the Quickrod which are both in the $1800-$1900 range they are from what I can gather the top of the line Splawn amplifiers, Followed by the Pro Mod
On the Frusciante issue I believe he is still using Marshall Silver Jubilees and Marshall Majors I don't know if he still uses the Fender head as recently I've only seen him with the Marshalls and the massive pedal board. Either way hes been replaced by his stalker apprentice fanboy Josh Klinghoffer.
