Lazy, Van Halen have always been one of my favorite bands, cutting edge artists who used production creatively but never put production above their musicianship.
What I've learned about EVH is that he's a guitar technique innovator in a class with Hendrix, as well as a technology innovator. His VH1 introduced significant features to guitar design that enabled his controlled, aggressive techniques, then he went on to design the Wolfgang, a beautiful little offset and a milestone axe in my opinion.
So congratulations on selecting VH1 as your project and especially for seeing it through successfully. By the way, Samick produced a Wolfgang knock-off, the FB1. It's well made and now that it's out of production can be had for about $150 USD.
