Making my Jagstang sound like Kurt's on a budget

he did use a marshall amp for the recording of "you know youre right" so he did use them from time to time, but not often....

yeah but technically we don't know if he used a jag-stang in the recording or not. Find your own sound, copy someone else to a certain extent but don't let their sound constrain you in your own personal taste.

I'm sure he used it on more than just that one song, never said he used it often, butto say he never used marshalls is false.

1. you won't find a warm reception with most members who proclaim their obsession to Mr. Cobain. This is only because (as I've noticed in the two weeks on the site) that an overwhelming number of Kurt Questions rise up and after awhile all the questions keep being the same.

Try Kurtsequipment or guitar geek for info about his setup and what not. Guitar Geek Provides a good diagram of his setup etc.

the real way to get his sound is at least get his pedal small clone and poly chorus the distortion dosent always matter and get neww pick ups my jag-stang has a jb and texas special (bridge pickup on neck postion) and sounds like the one he used on the in utero tour (european) and at times it sounds a little bluesy which i love since i love jimi hendrix

i know he hated marshalls but still find it funny he used cabs made by marshall...this guy on a budget so some cheap marshall is good enough

Apart from the above statement being gramatically flawed it is also not true.

Cronologically speaking, Stevie Ray VAUGHAN, would sound like Hendrix as the latter preceded the former.

In reality however, he does'nt. Yes there are elements in his style and technique that are comparable but SRV and Hendrix are two totally different propositions.

I love how people with 1500-2000 posts on the same website have the nerve to say things like "Find your own Identity." I just wonder if people like that, who are so critical of other's tastes and inquiries, even play music themselves...especially since they spend so much time flaming chat rooms. Please, by all means, Jagstang purists (and you know who you are) send me your bands demos so that we can all hear what sort of distinct sound you have come up with for yourselves. That is, unless you are too busy getting off on being mean to total strangers on the net. If so, then take your own advice. Talk is about as cheap as it gets these days.
