better pickups will sound crap through crap amp. do not cheap out on a crap amp.
The Frontman series suck.
Keep the vypyr for now, and save up. I wouldn't go for a Champ 600 if you want to gig. There isn't enough control over the sound, and you'll need an overdrive or distortion for dirt.
Your description of the tone you want says Orange, to me. So check out the Tiny Terror. Although it's not exactly their best amp. Avoid the Crush series though. Don't bother asking about them. They aren't the same thing.
