All the great tones of history come from amps. Get an amp with inbuilt distortion. Yes its limiting, but its much better than trying to drive a champion 600 with a muff.
"inbuilt distortion" lawls. sounds like someone enjoyed their MG's crunch channel too much.
Almost all classic rock tones are overdriven amps, most of the time on (british voiced) single channel amps.
A muff is not an overdrive pedal. It won't sound like an overdriven amp. It'll sound like a Big Muff. It won't drive an amp either. It's not a rangemaster or tubescreamer or w/e else. If somebody had an idea about gear, they wouldn't be trying to drive a Champ 600 into overdrive with a BM.
get a Laney or a Peavey classic 30/delta blues. Good clean channels and good overdrive channels. But you'll still want a dirt pedal for some gainier moments.
The twin is too good to be true.
