my american jag is great. . . a couple of mods on it, and i'm now using it as my main axe, mustang as a backup. my jag-stang will stay at home most of the time, though. it has sentimental value.

no one can tell me av 04 jag wasn;t worth the 900 i paid for it. great condition. all hardware, and buzzstop as an added bonus. i love it. the neck pickup is the only neck pickup i have ever liked in a guitar. the bridge one is abit week, but it still comes to good use.

I dunno about the AV Jaguars, but I love my Japanese Jag. I've found the Japanese Fenders to be the most durable, best sounding axes I own (out of 15+ guitars).

Sure, it's not the Vintage 63' relic I played at the guitar shop a few years ago, but it's pretty darn close (I'd say in percentages 95-97%) considering the different bridge and non-Jag pickups, and a few extra "hidden" switches. Needless to say, if I'm satisfied with it, then it must do really well, because the Jaguar is my #1 favorite model, and I really don't like them modified that much if at all.

i own a MIJ Jaguar, and i love it.

last week i saw in a shop exactly the same (oly white) but CIJ

and the arm contour seems very different...

did someone notice that ?

m probly going to buy a new av jazzie, the only problem now is the shoice of colour and the money(or the lack of). anyone have opinons on the colours?

Do the AV ones have that offwhite colour that jap ones do?

if you mean oly whitem than thats one of my more ideal choices but with a four ply brown tort. although im thinking about an ot one, or a surf green one, why must they all be beautiful. and expensive...

yeah I don't know why but I wouldn't like a oly white Jaguar but an oly white Jazzmaster, now that's a different story!

I think they look fantastic. The brown tort is just as good as the black ones from daboozman or what ever from eBay.

Hey superfuzz, I have the same problem.

I'll buy a new AV Jag very soon and I also can't decide about the color.

Until now I'm btw OW and CAR.

I have seen CAR from close but not an OW.

One of these days I'll go to my local studio where I'm playing with my band to see a Japanese OW. There's a band that their guitarist owns one.

From fotos I love very much that brown tort in OW.

Also have you seen this?

Hey, didn't see anyone say this but, the reissue jazzmasters have strat type wound pickups, tall and skinny. While the originals are wide, and flat wound, totally giving the jazzmaster its sound!

yeah but not as tall and skinny as strat pickups though. they're wider and flatter than strat pups but not as wide and flat as vintage pups.

What about the Jag pups?Which are the differences btw the old and the reissue ones?

Buy the japanese and replace the pickups with the Americans and youll save a few hundred bucks...I paid 100$ for my MIA Jaguar pickups. Everything thing else on the Japanese the wood, the metal, everything is the same as the MIA except the pickups
