Gil's like me, he's into his post-rock, so we're pretty much dependant on loops. Mogwai have two guitarists and both use loopers. Oceansize have three guitarists, two of whom use loopers.

Noise can be looped. and then stuff played over it, which is win. but spending too much money on a looper and a delay pedal when getting a dd-7 instead is just silly

Btw, shortly after we spoke of Selmers, I was actually down in London and visited Denmark street, I didn't see any. I'm guessing you would have chimed up if you'd grabbed one, did you miss out or let them go in the end?

i didnt get one in the end.

the selmers were in the vintage guitar shop at the very end which, upstairs, has a load of weird arse gutiars and 2 selmers. theres also another one in a shop upstairs which you probably didnt go into

Well, at the moment it's a bit of a trimmed down rig for me...

Mustang --> Turbo Rat -> Double Muff -> Big Muff --> Blues Junior

Lots of (in fact, exclusively) distortions in the chain... But that's all I really use at the moment... Plus I didn't really want to haul my whole pedalboard down here with me 😉

Sucks. Nah, I didn't go in any of the upstairs shops. Did you actually get to try 'em out or did you just decide to sack it off?

i just decided to sack it off. . . I'm just gonna continue saving up. I don't know what am i want really. . . i wanted a twin but it would be way too loud so now im set on a fender deluxe reverb but its all so confusing, i dont know what i want! lol i want so many amps i dunno what amp to buy lol

What do you think of the Double Muff? I was looking into getting one in the future. Although though are other things that'd definitely come first, it looks like a pretty freaking cool pedal to me (especially for the price).

HOW MANY TIMES?!

I have a Double Muff. I literally never switch it off. That said, I have it on single mode, using it as a clean boost, which is something that I think it does PHENOMENALLY. As I said in the "favourite effects" thread, I wouldn't be getting what I consider to be MY tone without the Double Muff. I know that's not its proper function by design, but still, that's something it does very, very well. As the overdrive/ distortion thing, it sounds okay, but is very harsh, and you have to have it at the beginning of your pedal chain otherwise it throws a massive, massive hissy fit.

It's a good pedal, don't knock it!

My mates selling a 2x12 Selmer Combo, a 60s model. I'd have bought it off him but i'd previously got the Sound City and 70s Laney head.

I read a bit about you lot talking Loopers. I tried this a few years back as i've nearly always been the only guitarist. The Akai Headrush worked well on clean settings but imo it lost it on noise. The Boss Looper had'nt been released at the time but i got the best results with a Digitech PDS Delay (like what Kevin Shields used), recalling my sample with the second footswitch. Unfortunately you cant find these pedals now but the Digitech Jam Man is basically the same thing but upgraded.
