Learn some Beatles songs, Daytripper; got a great riff and easy enough solo, and if you've got a tutor then I'll assume you've got some scale patterns, so...the intro uses E mixolydian and the solo uses Bm pentatonic. It's very worth having a work out of the riff etc by yourself, by all means get the chords etc if you're just starting out like you say, but the riff is easy, it'll give your ear some early practice.
