also have a Brasilian band from my city use Violin Eletric .... sounds like guitar but a lots more heavy .... wierd

its a very unique intrument , unique sound :

Amoust guitar neck on it , use Violin Bown witch is very very hard

If you have no desire to use a locking trem, why not just get something classy and solid like a Telecaster with a hot bridge humbucker and fatass strings? Don't get sucked into the "I'm playing THIS style, so my guitar must look a certain way" way of thinking.

That thing is kinda cool actually, although it looks like it would be uncomfortable.

Icey, you should check out a guy called Ed Alleyne-Johnson if you like the whole electric violin thing. He uses a 5 string electric violin, a loopstation and a whole load of neat effects to play mad prog rock pieces on his lonesome.

You may be playing metal but you might check out Jean Luc Ponty and Don "Sugarcane" Harris. Ponty is jazz and Harris is blues/rock. Two of the very best.
They both kicked ass on Zappa's "Hot Rats" album
