The colour of my guitar has always intrigued me. I got it from new when I was 15 and I remember opening the box and being surprised at the green colour. I'm fully aware that these guitars where only ever sold in two colours. I'm also aware how lighting can effect a photo - it's my job. I took a correctly balanced photo of my guitar a with a colour reference chart for accuracy. I've included some reference images for comparison... I'm also aware that these reference images are completely unreliable. However, I have seen many Sonic Blue guitars in real life and the colour just does not compare to my Jag-Stang. Kurt's original Polaroid specifies 'Aqua blue/green like old mustangs', so I don't think the colour is wrong, so to speak. I just question why Fender listed and sold it as Sonic Blue when is bares such low resemblance to other Fenders of that colour. I've also seen some photos of Jag-Stangs which look considerably bluer, so I wonder if there were different batches produced?
