Neck arrive today!!! And must I say, it is one of the finest necks I have EVER seen!! A finish as smooth as a babies ass and the fret work is brilliant!! Well done cross, you have truly outdone yourself this time.

I have taken pictures (with obligatory beer and powerchord pictures), just need to get them off the memory card. Im now motivated to forget finishing my car stereo next week and order the final parts for it (though I cant find a place that stocks the AV trem).

Im really sorry, Ive wanted to get the pics up asap but my sisters lost the cable for my camera and I cant get the photos off it any other way. Neho, tomorrow I'm getting some tuners to chuck on it.

Still sorry! the cable has dissappeared completly, also I have to wait a week for the tuners.

As for the humbucker, I went to a spare parts guy the other day to get the tuners and he also asked me what I was doing about the electronics. I said I was looking at getting a DiMarzio Tone Zone and said he was able to get a humbucker of equivilant sound and quality for half the price (might be GFS? but this guy is an expert on guitars, he does all the repair work for the pros here).

There was a problem with tuners though, I tried out 3 different sets:

- Eagles (with plastic buttons!)

- Fenders

- Grover deluxe (the best they had there)

He was out of Gotohs, but since none of the other fit, I decided to order to Gotohs. So Cross, was it DEFINATELY Gotohs that you drilled for?

I don't think they are gotohs. In what way don't they fit?

I assume they are japanese fender tuners, drilled from the specs of a real jag-stang.

The bushings didnt fit from all 3 types, since fender japan tuners are Gotohs I will assume the gotohs will fit. If not, its an easy job to widen to the holes

Ok. the gotohs should fit then. The ones off my Jag-stang were an exact fit.

If you do widen the holes, make sure you file them, DONT DRILL THEM.

Ill file them! last time i tried widening tuner holes was almost a disaster, luckily for my strat is was an almost.

fender don't make tuners. if a fender has kluson style tuners on it. they are either ping or gotoh. if they say "JAPAN" on them, they are gotoh, like these:

the ping will have a "CH" on, i think. for china

I can't recall "japan" being written on mine, I'll have to check.

no, it's a gotoh tuner from a jaguar (or any other AV fender). it might be that the jag-stang uses the ping tuners then (just like the japanese jaguars)
