First off, hello to everyone. I've been coming here ever since 1996 when I first got my Jag-stang. At this point, I had to recreate an account because I don't remember my old user name, etc. I usually come here about every 4 years when I get the itch to improve, problem solve, and so on.

I'll list a few things I've done, and then I guess I'll shoot some questions that I'd like everyone's opinion on. No offense, but unless you're at least as experienced as I am in these matters, please don't chime in and knock my OCD mind off balance.

Following done by "professional":

-Replaced pickguard with tortoise shell, then eventually went back to stock mother of pearl.

-Had creme/black Seymour Duncan JB put in for humbucker.

Following done by me:

-Took out tremolo springs, etc to lock down tremolo (tuning)

-Used electrical tape to lock bridge down (same)

Anyways. I always wanted to replace the bridge because it's such a pain to intonate the guitar. Do I have the right idea, or would the tremolo butt still be in the way?

Which bridge is the current tried and true replacement? I understand there's a "guide" on the mods page. However, I've been here since 1996 and I don't think they've ever been updated (see spelling errors for one thing).

When I got my guitar back from getting the Seymour Duncan JB I also brought with it a new Electro Harmonix Poly Chorus (2000). Do you recommend inputing the guitar into a distortion pedal before it goes to the PolyChorus?

Post Seymour Duncan and Poly Chorus my low E-sting, and I don't wanna say buzz, when struck hard/intensely (with distortion on most notably) over powers an entire chord almost as if the only string vibrating is the E-string for a second until that settles and things return to normal. I have a friend who thinks that's cool, but I know that's not how it used to be. I use a ProCo Vintage Rat by the way.

What gauge strings AND brand does everyone enjoy on their Jag-stang? Honestly I've been out of the loop for a few years with work, a few hard-drug years, and even an overall loss of interest in music altogether. Now that I'm back, I could really use some tried and true owners to encourage me on. Thank you very much.
